CTK Spirit Week

Christ the King had spirit week at school in honor of the basketball team going to play in a championship game. Each day of the week represented a theme to dress up as:

Monday: Decade day! We did Where's Waldo. I thought it was fun and original and I had most everything in his closet except for Waldo's red hat! Can you find Waldo?!

Tuesday: Dress up day! We didn't get too fancy for this day but we did end up looking quite handsome!

Wednesday: PJ Day, I forgot to take a picture but we did go in our Ninja Turtle Pajamas!

Thursday: Spirit Day! Dress up in your CTK colors of purple and gold. Some kids get really crazy and face paint and dye their hair we kept it to a minimal and didn't get all that crazy this year! Next year we may have to step it up a notch!

Monster Jam 2014

This year we were able to enjoy the full Monster Jam show and not have to hurry out due to rain. We attended the Monster Jam 2014 event in Orlando at the Citrus Domes last event before getting knocked down to be rebuilt. We got pit passes this time also. Brayden loved getting up close with the monster trucks and even picked out a favorite, Sonuva Digger, Grave Diggers son. We stood in line once to have him sign his monster jam and then again to sign his flag we had purchased.

The show was great. They put on great races and freestyle shows. Brayden's favorite was the freestyle shows and watching the trucks flip and wreck. Scooby Doo was the first driver to flip! Grave Digger won the freestyle and Sonuva Digger won the races.

Since the races Brayden has been on a mission to collect as many of the monster trucks as he can! Until next years event!

Visit with the Barrette's

Ian's cousin Amy recently moved to Tallahassee, which is about a four hour drive from us. His grandmother, aunt and uncle were making a trip to Tallahassee from CT to visit with Amy so we decided to take the weekend and drive over their to visit with them.

We ended up arriving a day earlier than they were since we had a drive we wanted to get over the day before. The ride over was smooth with only about 25 "Are we there yets?" and "Where are we going?!" The next morning we took a little trip to the Tallahassee museum. This had to be the best place we have visited for a local establishment. It was an all nature outside museum filled with animals located throughout a walking trail, dinosaurs built on all different car parts, a huge playground, an old train we were able to walk through, an old house and an old church. If we lived close by we would definitely visit this museum often.

That afternoon we met up with the Barrette's. We got to meet Amy's daughter Brooklyn for the first time and the kids got to play before dinner. We enjoyed a dinner with them all before heading back to the hotel to call it a night. The next morning we got to visit over breakfast before heading home. We had a great time catching up and hope to visit with them more often since there closer!
