Everyday Captures

My little blondie! I'm not sure where he gets it from but I sure hope that it stays!

A quick visit to the park on our way home.

The boys love to double ride the firetruck or push each other down the hallway while on is on it!

Who says skinny jeans are just for girls?!

My little helper.

Sleeping beauty. On this morning I had to wake him up to bring Brayden to school.

A last minute decision for a day at Seaworld and a carousel ride with Mommy!

Happy Birthday In Heaven

Another year has passed and another balloon has been sent up to heaven to wish my grandmother a Happy Birthday. This year she received two balloons, one from each boy.

I Am Home

You are home to him. When he learns to walk, he will wobble a few feet away from you and then come back, then wobble away a little farther and then come back. When he tries something new, he will look for your proud smile. When he learns to read, he will repeat the same book to you twenty times in a row, because you're the only one who will listen that many times. When he plays his sport, he will search for your face in the stands. When he is sick, he will call you. When he really messes up, he will call you. When he is grown and strong and tough and big and he feels like crying, he will come you; because a man can cry in front of his mother without feeling self-conscious.
When he grows up and has a new woman in his life and gets a new home, you are still his mother; home base, the ever constant, like the sun. Know that in your heart and everything else will fall into place.

Blue Springs

Brayden had off of school on President's Day and we attempted to take a drive over to Blue Springs to check out all the manatees since it was cold out that day, unfortunately I guess that was on a lot of peoples agenda because we couldn't get it. There was a long wait and people were parked along the road just waiting to get in. Luckily there was a park near by and we were able to  let the kids play!

So Ian and I decided on another cold day to take a ride and we scored! We were able to get in and they had a total of 66 manatees there that day. We walked along the spring and were able to see a few. I was expecting that there would be more and they were far apart so we saw one or two every hundred feet or so. We stopped by the camp store for a snack and coffee to warm up and the boys each got a manatee souvenir.

We'll be going camping here at the end of April and we are excited to explore the park more, with warmer weather!

Monster Truck Jam

The Monster Jam comes around twice a year around here and we have debated in past years if Brayden would be ready to go or not. We had decided that the next time it came around we would take him and within a few days we had heard that it was going to be in Jacksonville, so we immediately bought tickets and I'm so glad we did. Brayden enjoyed every second of it and so did we.

We got there a little early to eat dinner and then made our way to the stadium, with a little side tracking of a lost ticket we made it to our seats in time to see some of the pre-show. Brayden couldn't wait to see the trucks. When the lights dimmed and the trucks entered, the excitement began. We watched a few races and Brayden was anxiously waiting for the freestyle round where they jump over cars and buses. Well about two minutes before the round was about to begin the skies opened up and poured on us. Not just sprinkles, a full on rain storm and by the looks of the radar it wasn't going to end soon.

So we made our long way back to the car, stepping in puddles and absolutely soaked at the end. Hopefully next time we'll stay dry and make it to the end!
