Beach in January?!

Eighty degrees in January, yup thats what happened for almost a whole week in Florida. The boys and I took advatange of this rare record breaking temperatures and headed for the beach for the day. With a packed picnic lunch, sunscreen and plenty of toys to build castles, the day was a complete success. This was also Bransen's first trip to the beach. He wasn't a big fan of the sand at first and didn't want to put his feet in it. He spent about the first hour sitting on my lap taking it all in while Brayden jumped right into the fun. It was high tide and we had to sit on soft sand which I think was what was freaking Bransen out. Once we went on a walk and were able to walk on the harder sand he was all for running around with Brayden. I can for see alot of beach days on our agenda this summer!

Sunday Family Walk

Recently we started taking Sunday family nature walks. We head down to a local park that has a trail system on a lake and stroll along the dock. Brayden enjoys looking at all the trees, strolling down the docks near the water and roaming through the open field at the end of the trail. There's an old house that we always stop by to walk through and check out. Bransen rolls along in the stroller looking at everything and taking in all the fresh air.

And some Sunday walks come with a little more adventure that we expect. Our last Sunday walk we experienced, Brayden falling down off the picnic table onto his head (yes he's okay!) but in a state of shock he peed his pants, I got stung by my first bee ever, Ian tripped on a nail and cut open and shoe and luckily Bransen was in the stroller the whole time and was safe from harm!

My shadow

Bransen spent a good thirty minutes being mesmerized by his little shadow! He was simply amazed by it!

The Best Days

Some days are tougher than others being a stay at home mom to two crazy, energetic boys but I wouldn't change a thing about it! I love every minute of it, the good and the bad! Days like this one when we were just being goofy make me the happiest! These two are constantly bringing laughter to me and smiles galore.

Goodnight

We've been trying to transition Bransen from two naps a day to one long afternoon nap. So far it's been going great but I guess this day he was just a little tired in the morning.

Climber in the House

Bransen's taking it to the next level. He has begun the process of climbing. Luckily he only climbs on a few smaller things in the house and has yet to make it onto couches or beds, but I think that will be happening soon!

Afternoon Outing

A Saturday with no plans on the agenda we decided to take a trip up to St. Augustine to walk around downtown and check out the fort. The weather was beautiful and we knew we wanted to spend it outside. We walked around St. George street, shopped a little and then went and had a picnic lunch in front of the fort. Brayden loved running up and down the hill! We walked around the fort and then made a pit stop for some ice cream to end the day!
