Major Bed Head

I just had to post this picture because it just brings a smile to my face! Brayden woke up from his nap the other day with a major case of bed head. :)

Daytona Lagoon

We went ahead and got season passes this year for Daytona Lagoon. We are so glad that we did. We have already gone three times and it isn't even May! Of course the first two times we went I had always forgot my camera so I haven't been able to post on the fun yet.

The first time we went Brayden was very unsure of everything. I think it was a little overwhelming for him. He checked out the kid area and didn't like when the water got in his face which was a little hard because there was water spritzers everywhere. We spent a lot of the time relaxing in the lazy river, which is my favorite! The funny thing is, Ian and I didn't realize how hungry Brayden was. We ended getting him french fries around lunch time and he ate the whole basket. After that his whole attitude changed and he loved all the water. So now every time we go Brayden always wants to get french fries first! It makes for a better afternoon!

The second and third time we went, we went with my Dad during the week. It was less busy. Of course we got Brayden his french fries first and the ventured into the water. He loved it! He was climbing up the rope walls and running through the kid area like he had been doing it for years! He went down a few slides with us and we even took him in the wave pool. He sat on my Dad on a tube and I think he may have even fell asleep he was so relaxed. We were even able to take him down the bigger slides. We put a life jacket on him and rode a double tube. He sat in between me and my Dad. He smiled the whole way down until the end. The impact of the tube into the pool at the end usually flipped me over and startled him a little bit.  But it didn't stop him from wanting to go again!

We plan on spending much of the summer enjoying the water park!

Easter Sunday

Today we celebrated Easter with an egg hunt, the polish tradition of hard boiled eggs and kielbasa, a delicious dinner followed by a yummy desert.

The Easter Bunny arrived at our house this morning with a whole basket filled with lots of goodies for Brayden. The Easter Bunny knew exactly what Brayden liked. He enjoyed everything he had in his basket but his favorite was the Matchbox Motorcycle. We should have given him that at the end because he didn't want to do anything but play with his motorcycle.

At my parents house we had an Easter egg hunt. My parents hid eggs all through out there back yard filled with goodies. There were also a  few Matchbox cars, an Easter egg cup, a Mickey Mouse and Superman hid too!

I think the Easter Bunny out did himself this year! :)

Earlier in the day PaPa took Brayden for a ride in the bicycle trailer. Needless to say he loved it and here's a picture to prove it!

Ready, Set, Hunt

This morning we went to our Mom's Group Easter Egg Hunt! We all gathered and filled some eggs and had some yummy treats. We hid the eggs all through Linear Park and let the kids hunt for them. Some eggs were filled with chocolate, gummies and star bursts and some were even play-doh eggs.  The kids enjoyed finding the eggs and of course they were quick to grab them up! For it being Brayden's first Easter Egg hunt he was eager to collect as many eggs as possible!

Easter Egg Coloring

Last year we colored eggs with Brayden but it was nothing like this year. He enjoyed every minute of dunking the eggs in the different colors and constantly moving them from color to color. Sometimes he wasn't as gentle with the dunking process so some egg shells cracked quicker than others. Other times he wanted to have three eggs in the same bowl resulting in the dye over flowing. No worries though, we anticipated  a mess and did our egg coloring outside on the picnic tables for a quick cleanup!

Anastasia State Park

After trying to get into Anastasia State Park all season, we finally saw some sites were available for this past weekend and decided to book right away.We arrived on Friday and were able to set up quickly. This was Ian's first time setting our tent up and I have to say I was quite impressed with his patience, it went smoothly! We took a walk to the beach before dinner and played in the water for a bit. It was nice to cool off for a bit because the weather was a little hotter than we expected it to be!

On Saturday we rented bicycles for a few hours. It was a fun way to be able to explore the whole park and see everything without having to walk the entire way. While we were trying to get Brayden into the bike seat we were unsure if he was going to have anything to do with it but once we started going he loved every second of it. He actually cried when we took him out of it. He was so comfortable on the end of our two hour ride he fell asleep. On our ride we rode through all the sites to check out which one we would like to stay at when we go again and made a few stops at the playground to play. There was also a surf competition going on at the beach so we stopped to check out the surfers.

We also met some nice camping neighbors while we were there. They had two girls, older than Brayden but he enjoyed playing with them and they enjoyed having a little guy around.

My parents also came up on Saturday night to stay. We showed them around the park some, had dinner and relaxed by the fire. The next morning we cooked breakfast, packed up and headed home. It's always nice to get away but always nicer to come home.

With the Florida heat fast approaching we think this may have been our last camping trip of the season. Although we are hoping to go camping for Brayden's birthday weekend in June. We just may need some fans!

Front Porch Swinging

I’ve signed up to see this world
Through the windows of buses and planes
Every since they call my number
I’ll be living in the fast lane
It’s a dream come true
I’m a lucky man
And I love this role I’m on
But I do run out of gas
And it runs so fast so long

‘Cause I need some front porch rockin
Some back road walkin
Some sitting around and talk about nothin
I need some screen door slammin
Some homemade jammin
Some biscuits cookin in the oven
I need a little fun with my little one
A little gospel on Sunday
I need some hanging around
In my little town
In a big way

Motorcycles & Trucks

We've not yet entered into the world of Superhero's taking over our house, but lately it seems motorcyles and trucks have invaded our home. Well not just invaded we've always had them but they are now just getting played with.

Brayden's first love is his motorcyles. Ian just brought him home a tiny matchbox motorcyle that he likes to carry around with him. I think the motorcycle obsession started when Bike Week came into town in March. Seeing them driving around caught his attention...quick! Now when we're driving, he's sure to point out and show us all the motorcyles.

Trucks and four wheelers come in second! Although we have many more of these than motorcyles he doesn't seem to care. Lately he likes to put them on the windowsill and drive them around on top. I wonder when we'll move onto the next obsession but for now we're enjoying motorcycles and trucks!

Boys will be....

Well boys! No April Fool's jokes were going on at our play date on Friday, these boys were in full action! I'm guessing it had to due to the week long rain we had and being couped up in the house with only so much to do! I know I was personally going stir crazy so I can only imagine how much energy they had stored waiting to let out. The afternoon started with the boys playing inside, getting into there normal trouble and what started with taking a few cute picture opportunites near the pool ended our playdate with a bunch of naked boys enjoying the pool.
