Balloon to Heaven
Today would have been my grandmother's 92nd birthday. She passed away a few years ago and was never able to meet Brayden. She would have loved him so much and enjoyed watching him grow up. I know she's watching down from heaven and is his guardian angel. In honor of her birthday and to make it a tradition we decided to send a balloon up to heaven for her. I was able to capture a few pictures and a video of the moment. We watched the balloon until we were no longer able to see it in the clouds, on it's way to heaven.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
For some reason the first thing I thought about today, knowing it was St. Patrick's Day was Brayden's last St. Patrick's Day and the cute hat he wore. Now adays he won't let me put a hat on him at all. So of course I had to go through my pictures on my computer to find the exact one. I thought it would be fun to take a picture this year and see how much he's grown!

We also had a St. Patrick's Day party with our Mom's Group this morning. We made a leprechaun door knob hanger and ate some yummy cupcakes!

Jungle Hut Beach
First beach day of the season 2011!
Today we headed to Jungle Hut Beach with our friends, Harrison, Noah and we can't forget Brayden's love Brooks! The weather was absolutely perfect. We got to relax and play in the sand. The boys enjoyed playing on the rocks, in the sand holes and just chasing each other around. It let them get a great amount of energy out. We're looking forward to many more beach days before the weather gets to hot. Christine was able to capture great pictures of the boys playing today so all the pictures below goes to Christine's credit!

Inch by Inch
Inch by inch, row by row, I'm going to make this garden grow! :)
I have never tried to grow anything and I'm nervous that I'm going to kill my first garden, but I'm going to have some faith in myself and try to get some veggies and herbs. Ian tilled me a garden, we fertilized it and last night we planted the seeds and ran the sprinkler on it for the first time. The herbs should be the first to sprout and then the veggies. For herbs we planted, parsley, basil and oregano and for veggies we planted cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet peppers, okra, green beans and onions.
Brayden and I are going to check the garden daily and get rid of weeds and make sure that no animals are enjoying it. I'll proudly report when we have received our first batch of veggies!

Generation to Generation
I guess it's true! What we learn from our parents or little things that they say you will eventually catch yourself saying to your children! I have been catching myself saying one thing that my dad would say to me that I remember so clearly.
Regardless if Brayden has just ate a huge meal, as soon as I sit down to eat, here comes Brayden wanting to eat some of what I have.
So as my dad used to say to me, I now say to Brayden, " Whatever you don't eat, I will eat!"

Discovery Launch
On Wednesday Feburary 24th, the final Discovery Shuttle was launched at Kennedy Space Center. Brayden and I were lucky enough to be able to step out our front door and watch this piece of history.

Our Weekend Getaways....
As my last post gives great detail on our first family camping adventure, I am happy to report that for the last two weekends we have done the same. As Ian keeps saying he wants to get a sticker that reads "I'd Rather Be Camping!" We didn't realize how much we were going to enjoy camping. It's so peaceful and quiet and the best part is Brayden loves the outdoors so he is always on his best behavior! I don't think he's a child that likes to be contained to playing inside somewhere so when you let him outdoors, he's right where he belongs! We'll be taking a few weeks off of camping due to Bike Week and some things we want to do around the house, but I'm sure sooner than later we'll be back at the campground!
